1 Day.- LA PAZ – LAGUNA KACHA.
At 9 a.m. we leave La Paz, passing the beautiful scenery of the Cordillera Real, near Lake Titicaca, and then through the town of Achacachi, Warisata where the imposing Illampu and Ancohuma be seen. Then on through the highlands of the Andes, to the campsite of Laguna Kacha where we pass the first night very close to the glacier of Calzada, altitude 5,650m.
2 Day.- LAGUNA KACHA – RIO CH’AJOLPAYA
In the morning we prepare the equipment and start the day’s trekking with a climb of two hours to the Calzada pass, altitude 4,900m, very close to the mountains of Calzada and Kasiri. Then we descend to the Ch’ajolpaya river, where we may see a variety of Andean wildlife, birds and forests. Then we reach the campsite at Ch’ajolpaya, where we make camp for the second night.
3 Day.- RIO CH’AJOLPAYA – NEGRUNI.
After breakfast, we continue the trek for 3 hours up to the Warawarani pass, altitude 4,900m, near the glaciers of these mountains, overlooking Chajowara, then down to the campsite near a lake at altitude 4,100m, where we rest for the third night.
4 Day.- NEGRUNI – LLOCO LLOCONI
Six hours following the river Chiquini down to the church of Palca, then up through the Waraco cerranías, to reach the campsite in the Tres Marias mountains.
5 Day.- LLOCO LLOCONI – VENADA
After breakfast we start to walk towards another pass, altitude 4,800m, passing by small lagunas with a chance to see Andean fauna, then descending through the gorge to the little river which is near the cart road, heading in the direction of Venada.
6 Day.- VENADA – KOTIA – LA PAZ.
After breakfast we head up to Mollo pass, altitude 4,900m, and from there we descend to the valley of Janq’u Quta, passing vaious lakes and glaciers in these mountains, and mines and thus descend to the camp at Quta Thiya, altitude 4,650 m, where transport awaits us to return from Kotia to the city of La Paz in the afternoon.
Food: Lunches, dinners and breakfasts.
Mules and Muleteer.
Camping equipment, tent and sleeping mat.
